Move On the Mat Yoga
Holistic wellness is the condition of being in optimum health. It is a blend of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, the result of choosing to live a conscious life. The path of natural health and wellness is a journey that requires personal responsibility and commitment. Adding yoga to your daily routine is one facet of holistic wellness that will easily bring more balance and harmony to your life.
The practice of yoga is like peeling back the layers of an onion. The more you practice, the deeper within yourself you can go. Soon you will begin practicing yoga off the mat, meaning you will integrate the principles of yoga into your life. It all starts with simple physical movements on your mat.
The concept of Move on the Mat Yoga serves to remind us that it really isn't about what you're doing, trying to be perfect, or bend in a certain way to attain a fancy pose, but more importantly that you're just moving on your mat with attention to your breath, that's really the point of doing yoga! Move and breathe - that's it!!
About the Instructor
My name is Robin Pollard. I became interested in yoga in 2002 as a college student looking for ways to de-stress and my passion for it grew as I learned about its many health benefits and limitless potential for personal growth. I received my 200-hr. yoga instructor certification in 2009 through a Yoga Alliance registered school in Orlando, Florida.
I have extensively studied Nutrition, Reiki, Ayurveda, and many other modalities of healing over the past decade, and I am continually furthering my knowledge of Yoga and how it can help people heal. Previously, I have taught Meditation, Kid's Yoga, Acu-Yoga, Candlelight Yoga, and general Hatha classes, including Corporate Yoga and Yoga for Sports Teams, in West Palm Beach, Florida and at various studios and gyms in Salem, Oregon. I also hold a degree in Mass Communications and work as a Business Education teacher by day.
I primarily offer services to clients in Salem, Oregon where I currently live. I offer private one-on-one sessions from my home in South Salem or in the home of a client in the afternoon, evenings, and on the weekends. My approach to yoga is gentle and restorative, with special consideration of each individual's needs. I will walk you through asana positions step-by-step, so you will leave feeling strong, relaxed, and renewed.
