Move On the Mat Yoga
The practice of yoga is like peeling back the layers of an onion. The more you practice the deeper within yourself you can go. Pretty soon you will begin practicing yoga off the mat, meaning you will integrate the principles of yoga into your life. It all starts with simple physical movements on your mat.
When you take yoga off the mat, your life will become less stressful. You will suffer from less illness and make better decisions. You will feel more confident all aspects of your life. Let me show you how to work with your body's unique abilities and strengths to receive the full benefits of a yoga practice!
About the Instructor
My name is Robin Pollard. I received my 200-hr. yoga instructor certification through Yoga Jane Training, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School in Orlando, Florida. I have an educational background in holistic wellness and nutrition through Clayton College of Natural Health. Holistic wellness is the condition of being in optimum health. It is a blend of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being - the result of consciously choosing to live a quality life. The path of natural health and wellness is a life-long journey that requires personal responsibility and commitment.
I became interested in yoga in 2002, as a college student looking for ways to destress and my passion for it grew as I learned about it's many health benefits and unlimited potential for personal growth and relaxation.
I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and currently work as a secondary education teacher. I have studied yoga, Reiki, Ayurveda, and many other forms of healing over the past decade. I am continually furthering my knowledge of yoga and how it can help people heal. I have previously taught Meditation, Kid's Yoga, Acu-Yoga, and general Hatha classes at Heavenly Yoga and the Soma Center in West Palm Beach, Florida and Yoga Revolution in Salem, Oregon.
I primarily offer services to clients in Salem, Oregon. I currently offer private one-on-one sessions from my home in South Salem or in the home of a client. My approach to yoga is gentle and restorative, with special consideration of each individual's needs. I will walk you through asana positions step-by-step, confident that you'll leave feeling strong, relaxed, and renewed.
